How It Happened
READING, Pa. – After having its four-game win streak snapped earlier this week, Lebanon Valley's women's lacrosse team bounced back with a dominant 19-6 win over Alvernia on Saturday night. The Dutchmen improved to 7-4, 2-1 MAC Commonwealth, while the Golden Wolves remained winless and moved to 0-10, 0-3 MAC Commonwealth.
LVC got off to a hot start, scoring the game's first eight goals in the opening 17:10 of action. During that spurt,
Makenzie Kelley and
Veronica Venezia netted a pair, while
Emma Jones,
Jaclyn Little,

Kristina Maleski each scored. At 10:59, Alvernia broke the shutout and scored, but just 14 seconds later, Jones netted an unassisted tally to make it a 9-1 lead for the Dutchmen, followed by Maleski's second of the contest at 9:34.
The Golden Wolves then struck for two consecutive goals, making it a 10-3 game, however Venezia and Jones scored back-to-back to increase LVC's lead to nine at 12-3. Alvernia got one back with 1:16 left, but the Dutchmen still went into halftime with a comfortable 12-4 advantage.
Jones scored LVC's first goal of the second half at 26:38, and after Alvernia's Rachel Judge scored,
Kayci Strous got in on the action with a score from Kelley at 20:05, followed by a goal from the Dutchmen's leading scorer, Jones, at 15:33 from Venezia to make it a 15-5 game. The Golden Wolves netted an up-goal at 13:04, but LVC responded and scored the game's final four goals, all by different players, and the Dutchmen went on to breeze by Alvernia 19-6.
