Women's Tennis Wins Fourth In a Row

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's women's tennis team continued its strong play as of late when the squad defeated conference opponent Arcadia 8-1 at the Shankroff Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon to claim its fourth win in a row.

The Flying Dutchmen (8-6, 4-1 MAC Commonwealth) got off to another fast start with a sweep in doubles play. Marla Scacchitti and Melanie Haas handled Amanda Shulski and Tess Weber 8-3 in the top contest, Megan Williams and Sammy Bost swept Casey Boldt and Sarah Rosario 8-0 in the No. 2 outing, and Elise Hanks-Witaszek and Emily Wilczek bested Emily Cruz-Pineda and Maeghan Myers 8-5 in the third matchup.

LVC took care of the Knights (4-5, 2-2 MAC Commonwealth) in solo action in the two through six spots as well. Haas needed three sets to pull out a 2-6, 6-3, 12-10 victory over Weber in the two slot, while Bost dropped just one point to Boldt in a 6-0, 6-1 No. 3 contest. Williams defeated Cruz-Pineda 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 4 outing, Meridyth Sanders swept Myers 6-0, 6-0 in the fifth matchup, and Hanks-Witaszek went 6-4, 6-3 over Rosario in No. 6 action.

With the victory, the Dutchmen vaulted into second place in the MAC Commonwealth standings. LVC will try to keep things rolling when they travel to Stevenson for the team's final regular season road game of the spring on Saturday afternoon.
