WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's women's tennis team won its second conference match in as many days when the Flying Dutchmen dispatched of MAC Commonwealth foe Lycoming 7-2 on Thursday afternoon, April 12.
LVC (6-6, 2-1 MAC Commonwealth) came away from doubles play with two hard-fought victories.
Megan Williams and
Sammy Bost worked for an 8-6 win over Kaitlin Hallabuk and Julia Nagle in the No. 2 contest, while
Elise Hanks-Witaszek and
Emily Wilczek needed a few extra swings to earn a 9-7 decision against Kimberleigh Parroccini and Brittany Lenze in the third matchup.
The Dutchmen took five of six from Lyco (8-5, 2-1 MAC Commonwealth) in singles action, led by
Melanie Haas' 6-0, 6-4 victory over Hannah Summerson in the second outing and Bost's 6-2, 6-0 win over Hallabuk in the No. 3 contest.
Elizabeth Drda held on in a tight first set to clinch a 7-5, 6-1 victory against Nagle in the four slot, Williams went 6-1, 6-3 over Parroccini in the No. 5 pairing, and Hanks-Witaszek won her second consecutive solo outing by a 6-3, 6-2 score over Lenze in the sixth matchup.
LVC returns to action when the team travels to Alvernia for another conference competition on Saturday afternoon.
