How It Happened
NEW LONDON, Conn. – Lebanon Valley's second-half comeback fell just short in a 15-13 defeat at the hands of Connecticut College on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse action. The Dutchmen dropped to 2-2, while the Camels jumped to 1-1.

In the first half, LVC jumped out to an early 2-1 advantage thanks to two goals from Emma Jones, the reigning MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week. Connecticut, however, responded with four consecutive scores in the final 20 minutes of action to take a 5-2 lead heading into the second half.

To begin second-half action, the Dutchmen went on a wild 5-0 run, spanning from 29:42 to 24:29, to take a 7-5 lead. Jones scored two more in that spurt, as did Kirsten Bannan, while Makenzie Kelley added one goal. The Camels then evened the game up at 7-7 thanks to goals at 23:56 and 23:33. After the team's traded goals to make it 8-8, Kelley put the Dutchmen back on top at 9-8 with a goal at 20:12.

A crucial run followed for Connecticut, as the five-goal spurt put the Camels ahead 13-9 with 8:47 remaining in the second. Jones got one back for LVC at 8:10 to bring the Dutchmen to within three at 13-10, but two consecutive goals by Connecticut increased its advantage to 15-10. Jones two scored more times and Kelley added a score late, but it wasn't enough and LVC's comeback fell short.
