How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's women's lacrosse team fell in its season-opener by a 13-7 margin to Dickinson on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action. The Dutchmen now sit at 0-1, while the Red Devils improved to 1-0.

In the first three minutes and 24 seconds, Dickinson jumped out to a four-goal lead, including three scores from Erika Bloes. Then, at 14:04 of the first, Kirsten Bannan netted LVC's first goal, an unassisted tally, to bring the Dutchmen to within three at 4-1. After the Red Devils' Laurie Travaglini scored at 12:38 to make it 5-1, Emma Jones scored back-to-back goals at 12:22 and 11:37, bringing LVC to within a pair of goals at 5-3. Dickinson responded with a 3-0 run in the final 2:56 of the opening half, however, to take an 8-3 advantage into the second half.

At 21:51 of the second half, Emily Mackey scored her first collegiate goal, thanks to an assist from Bannan, to make it 9-4, but Dickinson followed with four-consecutive scores, spanning 13 minutes of action, to put the Dutchmen away. In the final 4:04 of play, Jaclyn Little scored her first collegiate goal, and Emily Federowicz netted her first of the season. With 2:05 left in the contest, Veronica John was the third Dutchmen to get her first collegiate goal, but LVC eventually fell by a 13-7 margin.

Inside the Numbers
 - Jones finished with two goals on five shots and the senior caused a pair of turnovers and controlled three draws.
 - Bannah registered a goal and an assist for the Dutchmen.
 - Jen Eck controlled a team-best four draw controls and she caused a turnover and picked up a ground ball.
 - Morgan Ernst and Leah Franklin each scooped up three ground balls.
 - Franklin played the second half between the pipes and made six saves.
 - Dickinson's Avery Priest made eight saves in the victory.
 - For the Red Devils, Bloes and Kaestner scored three goals apiece, while Madie French and Anne Dunster each scored a pair.
 - Dickinson held the edge in total shots at 28-24 and shots on goal at 22-15.
 - The Dutchmen controlled 11 draw controls, compared to Dickinson's nine.

LVC's three-game home stand continues on Wednesday when the Dutchmen host Susquehanna at 4 p.m.
