Swimming Splits at Stevenson

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Lebanon Valley's men's and women's swimming teams were in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) action on Saturday at Stevenson. The men's team defeated the Mustangs 86-76, while the women fell 113-85. The Dutchmen men improved to 1-5, while the women dropped to 1-5.
 
On the men's side, a team of Charlie Besjak, Derek Sauder, Gabe Dimisa, and Kurt Harnish teamed up in 200-yard medley relay and won the event with a time of 2:06.84. In the 100-yard butterfly, Dimisa battled Stevenson's Brian Brown and won with a time of 1:03.98. Then, Harnish, Hugh Mauck, Noah Miccio, and Chandler Mumper took first in the 200-yard freestyle relay, finishing in 2:01.28.
 
Besjak took second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:10.75), while he added a second-place spot in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:08.00. Kyle Kingsbury was second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.88 and also placed second in the 100-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:00.11. Sauder was second in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:22.39.
 
The Dutchmen's Erika Schell won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.12, while Courtney Betsock took second in the 100-yard individual medley at 1:07.56. Sarah Wolfe was victorious in the 500-yard freestyle relay, touching the wall first at 5:40.90 and then Betsock added a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:15.18.
 
Finally, a team of Kaitlyn Welch, Nicole Flohr, Betsock, and Schell teamed up to win the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:49.97.
 
LVC's 2018 portion of its schedule is complete and the Dutchmen will be back in action on Jan. 12, 2019 at home against FDU-Florham at 1 p.m.
