How It Happened
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Lycoming netted two first-half goals and held off Lebanon Valley by a 2-0 score in the MAC Commonwealth Semifinals on Thursday afternoon. The Dutchmen ended their season with a 10-6-1 overall mark, while the Warriors improved to 15-3-1 and advanced to Saturday's championship match.

LVC got into a 1-0 hole early as Kalu Ume took a lead pass from Alex Henry and scored just 2:11 into the contest. Shortly after, in the 10th minute, Lyco's George Charalabidis collected the ball after Sean Quirk made an initial save on Ume, but Charalabidis buried the shot into the back of the net to give the Warriors a 2-0 advantage.

Later in the first, the Dutchmen had a good opportunity to come to within one of Lyco, but Anderson Velozwong's header shot was saved by Chris Solecki. With less than a minute left, Kurtis Rineer had another good look for the Dutchmen, but Solecki again made the stop and LVC went into halftime down by a pair of goals.

The Dutchmen's defense held the Warriors' potent offense in check in the second half, but they were unable to find the back of the net to attempt a comeback. LVC's lone shot on goal in the second half came from the foot of Braydon Shuck, but it was stopped. Ivan Jorel then had a few shot attempts blocked in the 62nd minute and from there, the Dutchmen couldn't generate anymore scoring chances en route to the 2-0 defeat.
