How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley dominated Wilkes in every facet of the game and cruised to a 4-0 win on Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's soccer action. The Dutchmen jumped to 3-1-1, while the Colonels dropped to 2-4-0.
It took LVC some time to light up the scoreboard despite many scoring opportunities in the first half. In the 33rd minute, Wilkes foul
Kazuya Hirano in the box, resulting in a penalty kick.
Youssef Ouayakhaf was chosen to take the kick and connected to give the Dutchmen a 1-0 lead late in the first. LVC held onto the one-goal advantage heading into halftime.
In second half, the Dutchmen got on the board again when
David Brooks passed the ball to
Riley Katshir in the air, and the junior headed it past Wilkes' Tim Gallagher to extend the lead to 2-0. Just 30 seconds later, the Dutchmen put the game out of reach when a scrum in front created a scoring chance for LVC.
Khup Dal delivered a pass to
Rob Hanosek and he netted his first of the season for the 3-0 advantage.
The Dutchmen put the icing on the cake in the 81st minute when Hirano's blast from
Noah Campomizzi made it a 4-0 game. It was Hirano's first goal of the year and his first collegiate tally.
