How It Happened
Lebanon Valley struggled to get the bats going and managed just three hits in a 2-1 loss at Albright in the opening game of a MAC Commonwealth doubleheader on Sunday afternoon.
The Flying Dutchmen (17-6, 6-3 MAC Commonwealth) recorded two hits in the first three innings but failed to push anything across. The Lions (8-9, 3-4 MAC Commonwealth) struck first in the bottom of the third when they executed a double steal that allowed Corinne Garuffe to score from third base.
Albright added what proved to be the game-winning run in the bottom of the fourth when Brianne Long's two-out, RBI single plated Jessica Rodriguez from second base.
LVC broke through in the top of the sixth stanza when
Annie McClain singled down the left field line with two away, scoring
Kate Whelski from second base in the process to cut the deficit to 2-1.
The home team would hold on from there, as the Dutchmen went quietly in the top of the seventh, being retired 1-2-3 to end the game.

Maddie Abbot suffered just her second loss of the spring despite turning in a strong performance which saw her surrender just two runs on six hits to go along with her eight strikeouts in six innings of work.
- Riley Gerenda was outstanding for Albright. She earned the complete-game victory after scattering just three hits and allowing only one run, while striking out four Dutchmen.

- It was a rough day at the dish for LVC, as the top of the team's lineup accounted for all three hits.

How It Happened
Lebanon Valley doubled the amount of hits that Albright managed but left nine runners on base in the team's 2-1 loss to the Lions in the second outing of a MAC Commonwealth doubleheader on Sunday afternoon.
After two scoreless innings, the home team (9-9, 4-4 MAC Commonwealth) broke through in the bottom of the third and used three hits to plate a pair of runs and jump out to a 2-0 advantage after three frames.
Rachel Costantini's double in the top of the fourth moved
Savannah Toth to third base with two away but LVC (17-7, 6-4 MAC Commonwealth) failed to get on the board. It was more of the same in the top of the fifth as
Rayanne Hawk advanced to third base but the Dutchmen were unable to bring her across.
Lebanon Valley finally broke through in the top of the seventh when an Albright error allowed
Kate Whelski to score from second base.
Annie McClain moved into scoring position when
Lexi Windsor singled with two down but a ground ball to third base ended the Dutchmen rally and sealed the sweep for the Lions.
