W. Lacrosse’s Three-Game Win Streak Snapped

How It Happened
READING, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's three-game conference win streak was snapped on Saturday afternoon when Albright edged the Dutchmen 10-9 in triple overtime thanks to Sophie Bass' goal with 1:58 remaining in the third OT. LVC dropped to 3-8, 3-1 MAC Commonwealth, while the Lions improved to 7-5, 3-1 MAC Commonwealth.

With the Dutchmen down 9-5 with 6:57 remaining in the second half, LVC's huge comeback began when Kirsten Bannan netted an unassisted goal to make it a 9-6 contest. After no scoring took place for just over five minutes, it seemed the Dutchmen were out of gas, but at with 1:51 to go, Emma Jones brought LVC back to life with a goal to bring the Dutchmen to within two at 9-7. Less than a minute later, with 54 seconds to go, Makenzie Kelley found the back of the net for a 9-8 game.

In the ensuing draw control, Kelley won it ran down the field and took a shot, but it went wide. Later, after a foul on Albright, Emily Federowicz got a free position attempt and scored, tying the game at 9-9 with 32 seconds remaining. LVC won the draw control and got two shot attempts, but one was blocked and another wide, resulting in the game going into overtime.

After neither team could score in the first two OT's, the game headed to a third overtime where Albright's Mariah Cullen controlled the draw control and later, Bass netted the game-winning goal with 1:58 to go, giving the Lions the narrow win.

Inside the Numbers
 - Jones finished with three goals on four shots and scooped up a team-high three ground balls. She also controlled three draws and caused a turnover.
 - Federowicz scored twice on three shots for LVC.
 - Brenna O'Neill added two more tallies for the Dutchmen to go along with a helper.
 - Jen Eck controlled a game-high five draw controls.
 - Hannah Oliveras was solid between the pipes, making 10 stops in 78 minutes of action.
 - Devon Mela paced Albright's offense with four goals on six shots.
 - The Lions let loose 32 shots compared to LVC's 16. Albright also held the edge in shots on goal at 19-13.

 Who's Next?
The Dutchmen return to the friendly confines of Arnold Field on Thursday when they host Lycoming at 4 p.m.
