LVC Falls Short Against Lycoming

How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley fell to Lycoming by a 12-8 score after a second-half comeback attempt fell short in MAC Commonwealth women's lacrosse action. The Dutchmen fell to 3-9, 3-2 MAC Commonwealth and the Warriors jumped to 7-4, 3-1 MAC Commonwealth.

With Lycoming ahead 9-5 with 25 minutes to go in the second, Makenzie Kelley went on a roll and scored three consecutive goals, one with LVC down a player due to a penalty, and brought the Dutchmen to within one with 12:12 remaining in the contest. The Warriors, however, won the ensuing draw control and with 10:45 to go, Kelly McGinniss netted a goal to put Lycoming up by two at 10-8. Jordan Lazarich then added an up goal, and Kayla DiJoseph sealed the win for Lycoming with a goal at 5:24 to put the Warriors up by four at 12-8.

In the first half, after the Dutchmen took a 2-1 lead with goals from Kristina Maleski and Kirsten Bannan, Lycoming responded with four consecutive tallies to go ahead 5-2. Bannan and Emma Jones went back-to-back to bring LVC to within two with 10:46 to go, but the Warriors scored the half's final three goals and went into halftime with an 8-4 advantage.

Inside the Numbers
 - Kelley paced the offense with three goals on nine shots and added two draw controls.
 - Bannan finished with two goals on three shots.
 - Jen Eck picked up a team-high three ground balls, caused two turnovers, and controlled two draws.
 - Maleski notched a goal and a helper, while adding two ground balls.
 - Jones scored a goal and registered a team-high three assists. The junior captain added two ground balls, two caused turnovers, and three draw controls.
 - McGinniss led the Warriors offensively with five goals on six shots and she scooped up three ground balls and controlled three draws.
 - LVC led in shots at 25-23, however Lycoming held the edge in shots on goal at 19-15.
 - In between the pipes, Hannah Oliveras made seven saves for LVC.
 - The Dutchmen went 12-for-14 in clears and the Warriors were 15-for-17.
 - LVC won the battle in ground balls at 15-13.

Who's Next?
LVC has Easter Weekend off and will head to Grantham on Wednesday to take on No. 10 Messiah.
