How It Happened
GRANTHAM, Pa. – No. 7 Messiah took down Lebanon Valley by a 15-4 score on Wednesday night in MAC Commonwealth women's lacrosse action. The Dutchmen fell to 3-10, 3-3 MAC Commonwealth and the Falcons improved to 11-2, 6-0 MAC Commonwealth.

The 2015 and 2016 MAC Commonwealth Champs got off to a hot start and scored the game's first three goals to jump out to a 3-0 lead with 23:50 left in the first. Kara Strack found the back of the net for her first tally of the season at 23:02 off an assist from Emma Jones, however, to cut the lead to two at 3-1.

After the Falcons pushed their advantage back to three at 4-1, Jones netted her 37th of the season to bring LVC back to within two at 4-2 with 19:10 to go, but five consecutive Messiah goals made it a seven-goal game at 9-2 with 7:08 to go in the first. Makenzie Kelley's 24th goal of the season made it 9-3, but the Falcons went into halftime with a comfortable 9-3 lead.

In the second half, Messiah continued to build upon its lead. Kirsten Bannan was able to net her 19th of the season at 17:58 from Kelley, but the Falcons answered with four straight goals and went on to win 15-4.

Inside the Numbers
 - Jones finished with two points and four draw controls.
 - Amanda Mellendick and Julia Brewer picked up four ground balls apiece, while Jones and Rachel Anderson added three each.
 - Between the pipes, Hannah Oliveras made 11 saves and added a team-high five ground balls and caused three turnovers.
 - The Falcons were led by Jenna Stover who scored five goals and Annika Johnsen supplied three.

Who's Next?
LVC will host Alvernia on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Dutchmen's final home regular season game.
