W. Lacrosse Picks Up Third Straight Conference Win

How It Happened
GLENSIDE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley held on a late surge from Arcadia and defeated the Knights 8-6 on Wednesday night in MAC Commonwealth women's lacrosse action. The Dutchmen won their third straight game and third consecutive conference game and improved to 3-7, 3-0 MAC Commonwealth, while the Knights dropped to 5-4, 0-2 MAC Commonwealth.

After Arcadia scored the game's first goal just three and a half minutes into it, LVC battled back in a huge way, netting the next six goals from 17:21 to 1:41 of the first to take a commanding 6-1 victory. Kirsten Bannan netted a pair of goals back-to-back at 17:21 and 16:39, followed by an unassisted goal from Makenzie Kelley at 16:25. Later, at 15:49, Emma Jones got in on the action by scoring two straight goals a minute apart, and Brenna O'Neill finished off the Dutchmen's slew of goals with a tally at 1:41. The Knights got one with 53 seconds to go, but LVC still went into halftime with a comfortable lead at 6-2.

In the second half, Arcadia cut it to 6-3 with 27:10 remaining, but Jones scored her third of the game three minutes later to put the Dutchmen back up by four at 7-3. After the Knights scored with 18 minutes to go, Emily Federowicz scored her first of the game to make it 8-4. Arcadia scored two late goals, but LVC held on for the two-goal win.

Inside the Numbers
 - Jones, who won MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week honors, finished with three goals on five shots, while adding three draw controls. Her 32 goals this season ranks fifth in the MAC.
 - Bannan tallied two goals on six shots, while Rachel Anderson scooped up a team-high three ground balls.
 - Hannah Oliveras, the reigning MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week and ECAC South Rookie of the Week, (3-7) picked up the win between the pipes while making 10 saves in the process.
 - Jessica Kaye scored three goals for Arcadia and Shannon Ryan added two more.
 - The Knights held the edge in shots at 25-24, however LVC had 19 shots on net compared to Arcadia's 16.
 - The Dutchmen went 12-for-15 on clears, while the Knights were 11-for-14.
 - LVC picked up 16 ground balls compared to Arcadia's 10.

The Dutchmen look to keep their momentum when they pay a visit to Albright on Saturday at 1 p.m.
