Haley Christensen's ninth-inning squeeze bunt scored
Natalya Sizdahkhani from third base and secured a thrilling extra-inning, 4-3 walk-off victory over Arcadia in the opening contest of a MAC Commonwealth doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon.
With the score tied in the bottom of the ninth,
Lexi Windsor led off the frame with a double to left center before Sizdahkhani came on to pinch run at second base.
Kate Whelski's sacrifice bunt moved her to third and Christensen drove Sizdahkhani in with a perfectly-placed bunt in front of home plate that sealed the win for the Flying Dutchmen (21-10, 8-5 MAC Commonwealth).
Christensen got the game's scoring started with a two-out, solo home run that cleared the left-center field fence in the bottom of the second.
The Knights (18-11, 6-5 MAC Commonwealth) answered with a Jackie Bilotti two-run blast to straightaway center field in the top of the third but LVC drew even in the bottom of the stanza when
Sammy Bost's infield single forced an Arcadia throwing error and allowed
Cheyanne Brown to score from first base.
The visitors reclaimed the lead on a two-out error in the top of the fifth but the Dutchmen refused to roll over and eventually drew even when
Lexi Windsor's sacrifice fly deep down the left field line allowed
Annie McClain to tag up from third base in the bottom of the sixth.
Neither team managed a run in the seventh or eighth innings, respectively, but Windsor, Sizdahkhani, Whelski, and Christensen came through in the ninth after LVC starter
Maddie Abbot sat down the Knights in order in the top of the frame.

How It Happened
Lebanon Valley held off Arcadia's two-out rally in the final inning of a 7-6 victory that secured a crucial late-season sweep of a MAC Commonwealth doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon.
The Flying Dutchmen (22-10, 9-5 MAC Commonwealth) led 7-0 entering the seventh inning and starting pitcher
Lexi Windsor quickly got two of the three outs needed to seal the victory. To their credit, the Knights (18-12, 6-6 MAC Commonwealth) refused to go quietly and three hits and three LVC errors to score six runs and put a scare into the home dugout.
With runners on the corners,
Maddie Abbot spelled Windsor inside the circle and got Nicole Iasiello to strike out swinging to end the threat and put the finishing touches on a potential postseason preview.
LVC scored the game's first run in the bottom of the second inning when Cheyanne Brown's two-out single to center field plated Kate Whelski from second base.
Whelski did more damage in the bottom of the ensuing stanza by launching a three-run home run over the fence in left center field, scoring
Rayanne Hawk and
Elaine Gross in the process to make it 5-0 after
Haley Christensen's RBI groundout drove in
Savannah Toth earlier in the frame.
Annie McClain added an insurance run for the Dutchmen in the bottom of the fourth when her single up the middle allowed
Sammy Bost to score from second base after the lead-off hitter singled and swiped the second-base bag.
The bottom of the sixth saw Lebanon Valley score its final run when
Annie McClain dropped down a perfectly-placed bunt that allowed
Robin Feaster to come across from third base.
