How It Happened
Lebanon Valley picked up its first shutout victory of the young season thanks to a 6-0 blanking of Misericordia in Clermont, Fla. on Tuesday afternoon.

The Flying Dutchmen (3-2) manufactured a run right off the bat when Sammy Bost led off the game with a walk, Annie McClain moved her to second with a sacrifice bunt, and Savannah Toth drove her in with a single through the right side two batters later. Toth advanced to second base when Lexi Windsor walked and Haley Christensen's single to right-center field plated her to give LVC a 2-0 lead in the early going.

After Maddie Abbot sat down the Cougars (1-4) 1-2-3 in the bottom of the first, Lebanon Valley took advantage of a pair of MU errors and added to its advantage in the top of the second with four unearned runs.

Abbot struck out four of the first six batters she faced and kept Misericordia hitters off-balance at the dish. She didn't allow a runner to reach base until the third stanza and allowed her first and only hit of the day in the bottom of the fifth frame.

- Maddie Abbot earned her third victory of the spring in impressive fashion. The freshman turned in a complete-game, one-hit performance and struck out seven batters.
