How It Happened
Lebanon Valley's recent hot streak continued when the Flying Dutchmen defeated Hood 3-1 in the opening contest of a MAC Commonwealth doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, March 25.

LVC (10-3, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth) never trailed as Haley Christensen's RBI groundout in the top of the second inning scored Kate Whelski and gave the visitors a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

Cheyanne Brown manufactured a run in the top of the fifth frame when she singled to lead off the stanza, stole second base, and scored on a throwing error by Hood catcher Shelby Alcorn after swiping third base. Lexi Windsor gave the Dutchmen some breathing room with a two-out solo shot that made it 3-0 after four and half.

The Blazers (9-5, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth) got on the board when Roo Saglimbeni hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth but that's as close as they would get as LVC starter Maddie Abbot retired eight of the last 10 batters she faced to seal the team's first conference victory of the spring.

Inside the Circle
- Maddie Abbot earned her seventh win of the season in impressive fashion, scattering just three hits and allowing one run to go along with her three strikeouts.
- Kayli Paugh got the start for Hood and fell to 4-2 on the year after allowing three runs on five hits, two walks, and a wild pitch.

At the Plate
- Kate Whelski was the lone Dutchman to have a multi-hit day.
- Lexi Windsor's solo shot was her team-leading fourth home run of the season.
- Cheyanne Brown made the most of her lone at-bat, hitting a single and scoring a run in the fifth.
- Roo Saglimbeni went 2-3 for the Blazers and her home run was the team's only extra-base hit.

Around the Diamond
- Sammy Bost's single in the third inning was the 200th hit of her career. She joins former teammate Tessa Deardorff '15 as the only two players in program history to accomplish the impressive feat.
- LVC stole three bases, with Cheyanne Brown swiping a pair and Kate Wheslki stealing one.
- Catcher Savannah Toth threw out Hood's Kristy Erfurdt trying to steal a bag in the fourth.
- The Blazers committed three errors but none led to unearned runs.
