How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Swarthmore scored five goals in the final 24 minutes of action to pull away and defeat Lebanon Valley 11-5 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse action. The Garnet jumped to 3-0, while the Dutchmen slipped to 0-3.
Swarthmore got off to a hot start as Elizabeth Wainwright netted the game's first three goals to give the Garnet a 1-0 advantage with 20:24 left in the first.
Makenzie Kelley got LVC on the board at 19:17 with an unassisted tally, but Swarthmore's Taylor Chiang put the Garnet back up by three at 4-1 with 13:44 left in the opening half. After
Kirsten Bannan made it a 4-2 contest with a goal, the Garnet scored two more and went into halftime with a 6-2 lead.
The Dutchmen opened the second half scoring two straight goals, one from Kelley and one from
Emma Jones to cut it to 6-4, however the Garnet went on a crucial 3-0 run to go ahead by five at 9-4 with 12:17 remaining. Bannan added another goal with 9:29 left, but the Garnet netted the game's final two goals and went on to win 11-5.
Inside the Numbers
- Bannan and Kelley finished with two goals apiece for the Dutchmen with Jones added one.

Hannah Oliveras suffered the loss despite making nine saves and picking up a team-high seven ground balls.

Jen Eck picked up four ground balls for LVC and caused two turnovers.
- Jones caused a team-high three turnovers and controlled two draws, while Kelley won three draw controls.
- Jones now leads the Dutchmen in goals (11) and points (12).
- Wainwright led the way for Swarthmore with four goals on six shots.

- LVC held the slight advantage in ground balls at 20-19, however Swarthmore led in draw controls at 10-8.
