How It Happened
Lebanon Valley dropped an 8-3 decision to Frostburg State in the team's 2017 home opener at Arnold Field on Wednesday afternoon, March 1.

It took the Bobcats (2-1) nearly eight minutes to get going offensively before getting on the board first and scoring three goals in the opening quarter, two of which came in the final two minutes of the period.

The Flying Dutchmen (1-1) held off the visitors' attack for almost nine minutes in the second quarter but Adam Gross finally broke through and gave FSU some breathing room thanks to back-to-back goals at the 6:39 and 4:37 marks, respectively.

LVC struck late in the first half when Max Warmingham made the Bobcats pay for a crosscheck penalty by netting his first of two goals on the day off an assist from Matt Torrence with 2:58 remaining before the break.

The Dutchmen cut the deficit to 5-2 when Kevin Beaver drove hard to the net from right of the crease and sniped his attempt into the back of the goal off a feed from Baker Landon with 8:29 left in the third quarter.

Frostburg answered when Gross completed the hat trick with a score at the 3:59 mark, setting the tone for the early portion of the fourth period that saw Jimmy Lucas and Quinn Western each net a marker before Warmingham converted his second man-up goal of the contest off a look from Landon to cap the game's scoring with 4:20 left to play.
