How It Happened
It was a tale of two halves for Lebanon Valley in the team's 88-64 loss at top-seeded Lycoming in the semifinal round of the 2017 MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament at the Lamade Center on Wednesday night.

The Flying Dutchmen (16-11) took a 38-37 advantage into halftime but the home team's ability to create turnovers and score in transition at a whirlwind pace proved the difference to begin the second half. The Warriors (22-4) exploded out of the break, caused four quick LVC turnovers, and used a game-changing 18-3 run to swing the momentum squarely in the favor of the tourney's No. 1 seed.

Lebanon Valley turned it over four times in the first 2:11 of the second half, allowing Lyco to reel off eight points in a row. The Warriors added a pair of layups to push the advantage to 49-38 with 16:26 left to play before a Sam Light runner in the paint ended LVC's four-plus minute scoring drought.

A Collin Moore free throw with 14:12 remaining halted the Warriors' onslaught momentarily, but again the Dutchmen went scoreless for more than two minutes before a pair of Ricky Bugg foul shots cut the deficit to 56-43 at the 11:44 mark.

LVC struggled to find consistency on the offensive end in the second half, unable to string together buckets on consecutive possessions. Lyco took advantage by protecting the double-digit lead until it reached 20 points following an Alex Newbold old-fashioned three-point play with 6:28 left.

The Warriors closed out the game against the Dutchmen bench, sealing the victory and the team's second consecutive trip to the MAC Commonwealth Championship Game.

It was a back-and-forth affair in the first half, with Lebanon Valley jumping out to a 21-16 advantage following a Light three-pointer at the 11:34 mark. Lycoming netted the next seven markers to pull back in front before an Andy Orr layup drew the Dutchmen even on the following possession.

The Warriors led by as many as nine points following a David Johnson fastbreak layup with 5:32 left before halftime but LVC scored 11 of the final 12 points of the first half, capped by a pair of Orr free throws, to take a one-point lead into the break.
