How It Happened
HERSHEY, Pa. – Nazareth broke a 2-2 tie with 7:38 remaining in the third period and went on to defeat Lebanon Valley 4-2 on Friday night in ECAC-West men's ice hockey action. The Dutchmen fell to 4-17-2, 1-11-1 ECACW, while the Golden Flyers jumped to 7-14-2, 6-6-0 ECACW.

With LVC trailing 2-1 at the 13:02 mark of the third period, the Dutchmen were on the power play and Brett Johnson fed Jared Karas in the elbow and Karas blasted the puck past Nazareth's Michael Tilford and into the back of the net to knot the game at 2-2. However, just 20 seconds later, Dominik Gabaj found the back of the net to put the Golden Flyers back on top at 3-2.

With about a minute remaining, LVC pulled Joel Eisenhower to bring out the extra attacker, which was followed by a faceoff. Nazareth was able to win the faceoff and Gabaj used his speed and scored the empty-netter, giving the Golden Flyers the 4-2 lead with just 52 seconds left, and Nazareth was able to hold on for the win.

The Dutchmen were first to light the lamp when Bryan Hovanec netted his eighth goal of the season 6:09 into the opening period. LVC held onto its one-goal lead into the second period until C.J. Murray evened the score at 1-1 with a breakaway-goal and Austin Romzek then gave Nazareth its first lead when he scored on the power play.
