ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's men's and women's swim teams hosted Dickinson and Wilkes for a rare double dual meet at the Arnold Sports Center on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 5. The women split with the competition, defeating the Lady Colonels 136-57 and falling to the Red Devils 110-85. The men dropped a 128-61 decision to WU and fell to Dickinson 125-49.

On the women's side, the foursome of
Kaitlyn Welch,
Courtney Betsock,
Erika Schell, and
Julianna Currie opened the meet by earning a runner-up finish in the 200m medley relay. Schell also turned in a strong performance in the 50m free as she came home second after touching in 28.97 before following it up with another second-place finish in the 100m fly.
In the 400m free,
Sarah Wolfe turned in a runner-up effort with a time of 5:17.14 and
Courtney Betsock captured the most points in the 100m breast thanks to a time of 1:22.34. The group of Currie,
Nicole Flohr,
Katie Gingrich, and
Leslie Hiller wrapped things up with a nice swim of 2:03.81 in the 200m free relay.
Ian Lloyd took on a few different events for the men and was strong in all of them. He came home third in the 50m free thanks to a time of 25.84 and his 1:04.67 was barely two seconds off the time of the victor in the 100m back.
Chris Kurtz secured a runner-up finish in the 200m IM with a time of 2:29.64 and added a third-place finish in the 400m free, touching in 4:56.46.
Charlie Besjak also had a nice showing in the 100m free, swimming a 1:01.79 to come home fifth.
After swimming two events in three days, the Flying Dutchmen will get a few days off before returning to the pool when they travel to Wilkes for another dual meet on Friday night, Nov. 10.
