No. 2 Arcadia def. No 3. Lebanon Valley 3-1 (25-19, 25-21, 19-25, 25-22)

How It Happened
GLENSIDE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley was defeated by Arcadia 3-1 in the 2017 MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament Semifinal round on Wednesday night. The Dutchmen's season ended at 16-14, while the Knights (23-10) advanced to the Championship match at No. 1 Stevenson on Saturday.

Tonight, Jess Attieh joined elite company and became the ninth player in program history to record 1,000 or more kills. Natalie Goodfellow is LVC's career leader with 1,662.

In the opening set this evening, Arcadia scored the match's first five points, followed by the Dutchmen calling a timeout. The Dutchmen battled back with an 8-3 spurt to come to within three at 11-8 and kept it close and remained just three points behind at 18-15. Arcadia, however, didn't allow LVC to get any closer and took the opening set 25-19.

The second set was close early on as an Attieh kill put the Dutchmen out in front at 5-4. The Knights, however, took the lead with a 6-3 run to go up 10-7. Later, with Arcadia up 18-15, LVC went on a 6-0 run, which included kills from Nina Mentzer and Jayna Class, to take a 21-18 advantage. The Knights responded in a big way, winning the set's final seven points to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

The third set was back-and-forth early on as the Dutchmen held a narrow 7-6 advantage, but five consecutive points by Arcadia put the Knights up 10-7. LVC responded in a big way and went on a 9-3 run to retake the lead at 16-13. The Knights got close down the stretch, but never tied it or went ahead, en route to LVC's 25-19 third-set win.

The fourth set was tied early on at 6-6 and it remained close later with Arcadia up 17-14. From there, Mentzer and Class picked up back-to-back kills, followed by Abbey Barnhart's service ace, to knot the set at 17-17. The teams then traded off a point each, and at 18-18, the Knights strung together three straight points to go ahead 21-18. After a Dutchmen timeout, Class picked up a kill, followed by one from Attieh and another from Class to even the set again, this time at 21-21. From there, the Knights scored four out of the last five to take the set 25-22 and the match 3-1.
