How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley dominated Lycoming and cruised to a 3-0 win over the Warriors on Tuesday night in MAC Commonwealth volleyball action. The Dutchmen jumped to 15-11, 5-2 MAC Commonwealth and Lyco dropped to 13-18, 1-7 MAC Commonwealth.

LVC opened up the first set on a 6-2 run, and later strung together four consecutive points, capped by a Jayna Class service ace, to extend its first-set advantage to 14-6. Later in the set, the Warriors got as close at 20-12, but LVC finished them off in style, scoring the set's final five points, which was capped by Jensen Burnheimer's kill, giving the Dutchmen a comfortable 25-12 win.

The middle set was close early on as LVC held a narrow 8-6 lead. Then, with the Dutchmen leading 11-8, LVC rattled off three straight, including kills from Class and Nina Mentzer, to increase its advantage to six at 14-8. Lyco never got any closer than that and Class finished off the set emphatically, with a kill from Burnheimer, clinching the set at 25-13 and putting the Dutchmen up 2-0.

LVC began the third set by scoring the first four points, but the Warriors didn't go away quietly and hung with the Dutchmen throughout much of the set. With LVC up 21-14, Lyco scored four out of the next five and came back to within four at 21-17. The Warriors then scored two of the next three points to make it 22-19, forcing LVC to burn a timeout. Coming out of the break, Jess Attieh recorded back-to-back kills, putting the Dutchmen up 24-19. At 24-20, Attieh finished off the Warriors in style with an impressive kill, which can be seen below.
