How It Happened
In a preview of a future conference rivalry, Stevenson escaped Hersheypark Arena with a 4-1 come-from-behind victory over Lebanon Valley on Friday night, Jan. 6.
After a scoreless first period,
MacKenzie Bokina put the Flying Dutchmen (2-9) on the board first when she flipped her attempt past SU goaltender Annie Smyth-Hammond 52 seconds into the second period off an assist from
Elaine Tarasiewicz.
It took the Mustangs (8-5) less than 20 seconds to tie the score thanks to Rachel Grewette's equalizer following the team's center-ice faceoff win moments after Bokina's marker.
Stevenson took the lead with less than five minutes remaining in the second period when Sarah Antonelli netted the first of three Mustang power-play goals off a Chelsea Blackburn assist.
Blackburn capped the game's scoring with less than six minutes to play in the game after Cierra Siemasko scored the Mustangs' second power-play goal of the night midway through the third period.
