How It Happened
Lebanon Valley never trailed in its 13-11 victory over Misericordia at Arnold Field on Wednesday night. With the win, the Flying Dutchmen (11-7) advanced to the semifinal round of the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Tournament.
Makenzie Kelley provided the first half offense for LVC by scoring three goals and adding an assist in the first 18 minutes.
Brooke Stoltzfus stole the show in crunch time, scoring the team's final goal and finishing with two markers, five ground balls, and four caused turnovers.
Sam Boyce netted a pair of goals in the first half,
Alyse Bingham added a strike, and
Kirsten Bannan tallied two assists to give the Dutchmen a 6-1 advantage heading into halftime. Boyce converted her third goal of the game early in the second half off a Kelley look to make it 7-2 with 26:37 left to play.
From there, Misericordia (10-9) found life thanks to three straight scores in a three-minute span before cutting the deficit to 10-9 with 13:11 remaining.
LVC held off the Cougar charge thanks to free position conversions by
Emma Jones and
Nikki Lloyd. Jones buried a strike at the 8:04 mark and Lloyd cushioned the Dutchmen advantage with a tally with 2:12 left to play.
Inside the Numbers
- Each team got off 23 shots with Misericordia holding the advantage in shots on goal at 20-18.
- LVC committed 24 turnovers on the night, while the Cougars turned it over 23 times.

The Dutchmen move on to face Stockton in the ECAC Tournament semifinal round at Muhlenberg on Saturday at 3 p.m. A semifinal victory would propel LVC to the ECAC title game on Sunday afternoon.
