M. Lacrosse Advances to ECAC Semis

How It Happened
Lebanon Valley earned a 10-6 win over Moravian College to advance to the semifinal round of the 2016 ECAC Mid-Atlantic Men's Lacrosse Tournament. The Dutchmen improved to 11-7, while the Greyhounds ended their season with a 10-6 mark.

The No. 3-seeded Dutchmen will head to Swarthmore College and take on No. 2 Stockton on Saturday at 4 p.m. with the winner advancing to the championship on Sunday at Swarthmore.

Midway through the first quarter, LVC got on the board when Jacques Mercer scored off an assist from Koty Keefer. Two minutes later with 3:35 remaining in the first, Brett Kudlad scored a man-advantage goal from Baker Landon to make it 2-0. Joe Olives scored his first goal of the season just nine seconds later to extend the Dutchmen's lead to 3-0. With 1:09 remaining in the first, the Greyhounds got on the board with a man-up goal to cut LVC's lead to 3-1.

 With 7:16 remaining in the second, Matt Torrence scored the first of three consecutive goals for the Dutchmen, as Mason Hoff and Brett Kudlak followed with tallies to bring LVC's lead to 6-1. The Dutchmen held Moravian off the scoreboard in the second and took that lead into halftime.

The No. 6-seeded Greyhounds came out in the third quarter and scored two in a row to cut into LVC's lead and make it 6-3, however the Dutchmen answered with goals by Keefer and Alex Bushong to put the lead back to five at 8-3 early in the fourth quarter. Later in the fourth with 12:37 to go, Cooper Gerus found the back of the net to make it a 9-4 and Bushong followed with a man-up goal bring the score to 10-4. Moravian got two later goals, but LVC was able to hold on for the 10-6 victory.

Inside the Numbers
 - Kudlak and Bushong netted two goals apiece, while six other Dutchmen scored a goal.
 - Landon assisted on two goals on the day.
 - Keefer fired a game-high 13 shots and Bushong had 10 shots.
 - Jeremy Beaver corralled eight ground balls, while Kudlak and Chris Bergeron each picked up six.
 - Coleman Wagner and Nick Mowry each caused two turnovers.
 - Beaver was 11-for-19 in face offs for LVC.
 - The Dutchmen outshot Moravian 49-36.
 - LVC went 18-for-19 on clears while the Greyhounds were 14-for-18.
 - As a team, the Dutchmen picked up 49 ground balls, compared Moravian's 28.
 - Cam Epple was strong between the pipes, making 10 saves in his 11th victory of the season.
