How It Happened
Lebanon Valley never trailed and defeated Ferrum 8-5 in the team's final nonconference matchup of the spring at W.B. Adams Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Goalkeeper Cameron Epple made nine of his 20 saves in the fourth quarter to preserve the LVC advantage down the stretch following a three-goal third period that saw Brett Kudlak net half of his game-high four scores and Koty Keefer bury the eventual game-winner.

Keefer opened the game's scoring less than two minutes in when he found twine off Klayton Garman's first of three assists on the day. Austin Farwell doubled the LVC (5-3) advantage with an unassisted score at the 10:46 mark.

Ferrum (6-8) got on the board when Frank Boxley converted his attempt with 4:41 left in the period but Kudlak answered when Garman found him for his first marker of the contest with 34 seconds remaining in the opening quarter to increase the lead to 3-1 after one.

The Panthers drew to within one when Kyle Lister scored with 8:48 left in the second quarter but the Dutchmen responded with two in a row when Kudlak converted his second of the half at the 7:16 mark before Keefer found Jacques Mercer for a strike with 4:39 left until halftime.

Keefer notched his second goal of the game less than three minutes into the second half before Ferrum made a run with a pair of scores in less than a minute to draw to within 6-4 midway through the third period.

Kudlak came to life again as the quarter came to a close, however, and beat Panther goalkeeper Koby McMahon on back-to-back attempts with less than three minutes to play in the third, giving the Dutchmen a comfortable four-goal cushion heading into the final period of play.

Boxley scored his second goal of the game to bring the deficit to 8-5 with 9:10 remaining but Epple made six consecutive saves to thwart the Panther comeback effort and seal the victory for Lebanon Valley.

It Was Over When…
Koty Keefer found the mark on what proved to be the eventual game-winner with 12:08 remaining in the third period. His score gave LVC a 6-2 advantage and provided a cushion the Panthers were unable to come back from, especially with Cameron Epple stopping 80 percent of the shots fired his way.
