How It Happened
Elaine Gross homered for the second straight day, Christina Mentzer allowed just six hits, and Lebanon Valley put up six runs in the fifth inning to end things early in an 11-2 victory over DeSales in game one of a non-conference doubleheader on Sunday afternoon.

The Flying Dutchmen (17-10) scored first in the top of the second inning when they executed a double steal that allowed Jordyn Miller to score from third base before adding two more tallies in the third when Emily Johnson's RBI single plated Haley Christensen and Miller's RBI groundout pushed Cheyanne Brown across.

DeSales (4-22) broke up the shutout with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third but LVC answered back with a pair of its own in the top of the fourth when Bost's single through the right side brought Kim Ortiz-Marrero home before scoring herself on Brown's single to right field.

Gross broke open the game with a two-run blast in the top of the fifth and the Dutchmen used four hits and three Bulldog errors to plate six runs in the frame. After a lead-off single in the bottom half, Mentzer worked a strikeout, fly out, and ground out to seal the victory.

How It Happened
Lebanon Valley saw an excellent chance at a doubleheader sweep evaporate in the seventh inning as DeSales plated five runs, including the game-winner, to earn a 10-9 come-from-behind victory in the nightcap on Sunday afternoon.

The Flying Dutchmen (17-11) led 9-5 entering the final half inning but six hits, including a home run and a double, a walk, and a wild pitch were enough for the Bulldogs (5-22) to pull off the improbable walk-off victory.

LVC scored three runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to expand a one-run lead to a 9-4 advantage. Liz Bauer and Emily Johnson each notched an RBI in the top of the sixth after Johnson's double to left field scored Sammy Bost and Cheyanne Brown in the previous stanza.

Inside the Circle
- Holly Langdon got the start and went six innings for the Dutchmen, allowing seven earned runs on 11 hits and two walks.
- Christina Mentzer made her second appearance of the day in the seventh inning, ultimately taking the loss after allowing a pair of runs on four hits.
