How It Happened
Lebanon Valley saw Susquehanna erase an early deficit and hold off a late rally to earn a 7-6 victory in game one of a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon.
The Flying Dutchmen (17-12) jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, scoring a pair of runs in both the first and second innings. In the bottom of the first,
Jordyn Miller's RBI double scored
Sammy Bost and
Elaine Gross drove in Miller with a two-out RBI single. In the second, a Crusader throwing error allowed
Emily Stratton to score from second base before
Haley Christensen pushed Bost across with a sacrifice fly.
Susquehanna (17-12) cut the deficit in half when Lauren Creamer tripled in the top of the third, plating a pair of runs on the play before adding another tally in the fifth when Amanda Neveroski's sac fly to center field drove in Leigh Ann Greenwald from third base.
Miller picked up her second RBI of the day when her single to left center drove in Bost in the bottom of the frame but the Crusaders used four singles and three wild pitches to plate three runs and take their first lead of the game in the top of the sixth.
The Dutchmen threatened in the seventh when Miller scored on
Cheyanne Brown's RBI groundout but SU starter Jamie Fesinstine got a game-ending strikeout, stranding a pair of LVC runners in scoring position.

Haley Neff got the start for the Dutchmen and threw 50 pitches in three innings of work. She allowed a pair of runs on four hits and struck out two.

Holly Langdon took her third loss of the spring, surrendering four earned runs on seven hits. She threw 46 pitches in the final four innings.
- Jamie Fesinstine earned her 11th victory of the season, throwing a complete game and giving up just three earned runs on 11 hits and two walks. She racked up 10 strikeouts on 133 pitches.

How It Happened
Susquehanna racked up 17 hits, including six of the extra-base variety, en route to a 16-7 victory over Lebanon Valley in game two of a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon.
The Crusaders (18-12) posted crooked numbers in each of the first three innings to jump out to a 7-0 advantage after three.
The Flying Dutchmen (17-13) broke up the shutout with two away in the bottom of the third when
Alissa Robinson singled through the left side to drive in
Sammy Bost.
Susquehanna got one back in the top of the fourth before accumulating seven runs on eight hits, five of which were doubles, and two Lebanon Valley errors to put the Dutchmen in a hole entering the bottom of the stanza.
LVC put together a late rally, batting around in the fifth and scoring six runs on six hits and one Crusader error.
Cheyanne Brown,
Elaine Gross, and
Kim Ortiz-Marrero each doubled in the frame to drive in runs but the comeback effort proved too little too late.

Christina Mentzer got the start for LVC and eventually took the loss. She allowed eight hits but only two earned runs on 61 pitches in three innings of work.

Holly Langdon was the first Dutchman to make a relief appearance, throwing 1.1 innings and allowing three earned runs on four hits.

Haley Christensen made a rare relief appearance, throwing the final 0.2 innings and surrendering one earned run on five hits.
- Alexa Gonzalez got the win for the Crusaders, allowing just three earned runs despite giving up 12 hits. She threw 100 pitches, walking none and striking out three.

- Bost's 44 runs on the season are also a new single-season record. Bost re-set the mark she originally set as a freshman in 2014.
- Leigh Ann Greenwald stole the game's only base for the Crusaders.
- The teams combined to commit seven errors – five by LVC and two by Susquehanna.
- Those errors led to a combined 14 unearned runs in the nightcap.
