How It Happened
Penn St-Altoona scored six runs in the top of the eighth to overtake Lebanon Valley and eventually hold on for the 8-7 narrow victory over the Dutchmen on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action. LVC slipped to 12-16, while the Lions jumped to 8-20.

With the Dutchmen up by a 7-2 score heading into the eighth, Altoona started the comeback train as Josh DeGol drew a based-loaded walk to make it 7-3 and Chris Michaelis singled home two Lions and made it 7-5. After Fulmer hit a two-RBI double to tie the game at 7-7.  Later, Smith gave Altoona the lead with a single to right field on the first pitch he saw from reliever Nathan Smith.

After the Lions scored a run in the top of the first off starting pitching Jared McCabe, LVC came right back and got a run with one swing of the bat when Michael Puglisi hit a line-drive home run over the left field fence to tie the game at 1-1. Later in the inning, Brett Fundell gave the Dutchmen the lead with a long home run over the left field fence.

LVC used a huge third inning to break the 2-2 tie as the Dutchmen scored four in the third to take a 6-2 lead. They added another in the sixth, however the big eighth inning from Altoona was enough to earn the Lions the slim victory.

At the Plate
 - Greg Orlando had three hits, while Puglisi was 2-for-5 with two RBI.
 - Zach Smith and Zac Edwards added two hits apiece, while Jonathan Harned notched two RBI.
