Kuntz Surpasses 100 Career Goals in LVC’s Triumph Over Alvernia

How It Happened
READING, Pa. – Lebanon Valley outscored Alvernia 9-0 in the first half as the Dutchmen went on to cruise past the Crusaders by a 13-5 score on Sunday afternoon in women's lacrosse action. LVC stayed perfect in conference action and improved to 6-4, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth, while Alvernia slipped to 4-5, 0-3 MAC Commonwealth.

In the Dutchmen's win, Tori Kuntz surpassed 100 career goals as she scored five on the day to lead LVC.

The Dutchmen dominated the opening half, as Sam Boyce scored her 25th of the season with 23:11 left in the first, followed by three in a row from Emma Jones to make it 4-0 LVC with 16:20 left. Kuntz scored next and Boyce followed with two more to make it 7-0. Kuntz and Jones went back-back-to-back in the closing minutes of the first to give the Dutchmen a comfortable 9-0 lead at the break.

The Crusaders scored the first three of the second half to cut the deficit to 9-3, but Kuntz scored three goals in a row, including her 100th and 101st to put away Alvernia for good and make it 12-3 with 15:46 remaining. Boyce added another late, as LVC went on to down the Crusaders 13-5.

Inside the Numbers
 - Kuntz had five goals for the Dutchmen and joined her teammate Boyce and several others who have eclipsed the 100-goal mark. Hannah Krechel (2010-13) is the program's all-time leader at 272.
 - Jones and Boyce finished with four goals apiece.
 - Amanda Mellendick and Brooke Stoltzfus each picked up three ground balls, while Emily Moatz and Jones won two draw controls apiece.
 - LVC had 25 shots on goal compared to Alvernia's 15.
 - The Dutchmen were 14-for-14 on clears for the day.
 - Shelby Morris picked up her sixth win of the season and made 10 saves in the process.
