How It Happened
It was all Lebanon Valley in the team's 12-6 victory over MAC Commonwealth foe Alvernia at Arnold Field on Sunday afternoon.

The Flying Dutchmen (7-3, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth) never trailed and used goals from 11 different players to win their third straight outing and remain undefeated in conference play.

It took Nick Mowry just 21 seconds to give LVC the lead as he connected on an unassisted strike moments after Jeremy Beaver won the opening faceoff. Jacques Mercer doubled the advantage with a marker off a Koty Keefer assist with 4:19 remaining in the first period before Alvernia's Jarrett Abernethy cut the deficit in half with a score at the 2:25 mark. Mason Hoff answered for the Dutchmen by finding the back of the net with 15 seconds left in the quarter.

Lebanon Valley blew the game open when it tallied four of the second period's five goals, with Matt Torrence, Max Warmingham, Alex Bushong, and Austin Farwell all finding twine. Tyler McDonell kept Alvernia (3-8, 0-3 MAC Commonwealth) from being blanked in the quarter with a goal at the 4:49 mark.

After entering the break with a 7-2 advantage, the Dutchmen continued the onslaught by netting the first three goals of the third period. Hoff scored his second of the afternoon off a Warmingham find at the 11:10 mark, Klayton Garman connected off a Cooper Gerus assist, and Brett Kudlak made it 10-2 LVC after Bushong found him for a score with 5:29 left in the quarter.

The Dutchmen struck again just eight seconds into the fourth when Beaver won the faceoff and made one pass to Kyle Robins who roped his attempt past Crusader goalkeeper Kyle Augustine. Alvernia put a nice run together and scored three in a row as the quarter wound down but Kevin Beaver put an exclamation point on the scoring when he completed a clear, drove to net, and fired one into the twine with 2:44 left to play.

Crosse Out Cancer

Cullinan was a four-year starter and two-time team captain for LVC in the 1970s. A jersey auction, t-shirt sale, and bake sale were held at Arnold Field with proceeds being donated to the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life.
