How It HappenedCARLISLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley scored two late goals but was unable to complete the comeback against Dickinson and was edged out by the Red Devils by a 9-7 score on Wednesday afternoon. The Dutchmen fell to 3-4, while Dickinson evened its record to 2-2.
The Red Devils scored the contest's first two goals within the first two minutes of action, however LVC responded with two goals of their own, a goal at 12:14 from
Emma Jones and one from
Tori Kuntz at 9:14, to tie the game at 2-2. From there, Dickinson found the back of the net at 8:52 and 7:36 to go back up by two goals at 4-2.
Sam Boyce netted a goal with 5:39 remaining in the first half and the Dutchmen were down by just a goal at halftime.
To start the second half, the teams traded goals and it was 6-5 in favor of the Red Devils with 11:25 to go. Dickinson then scored three in a row in the span of seven minutes and led 9-6 with just 4:45 left.
Brenna O'Neill and
Emma Jones scored goals late, however the clock ran out on LVC and the Red Devils came away with the 9-7 win.
Inside the Numbers - Jones and Boyce paced the Dutchmen offense with two goals apiece.

Makenzie Kelley, Kuntz, and O'Neill scored the other goals for LVC.
- Jones picked up a team-high three ground balls, while
Amanda Mellendick and
Kristina Maleski each picked up two.

Julia Brewer caused two turnovers and Jones won three draw controls.
- Dickinson outshot LVC 36-18, while the Dutchmen were 17-for-22 on clears and the Red Devils were 14-for-15.

Shelby Morris made 13 saves between the pipes for LVC, while Tara Cuddihy stopped nine shots for Dickinson.
Who's Next?The Dutchmen enjoy a nice break before returning to action on Saturday, April 2nd. LVC hosts Susquehanna in a 1 p.m. contest.
