How It HappenedALLENTOWN, Pa. – Muhlenberg outscored Lebanon Valley 12-4 in the second half to defeat the Dutchmen 18-11 on Wednesday evening. The Dutchmen fell to 3-3, while the Mules stayed perfect and now sit at 5-0.
The first half was a back-and-forth affair with Muhlenberg jumping out to a 3-1 lead in the first eight minutes of action.
Sam Boyce responded with her second goal of the half at 9:35 to make it 3-2 and
Tori Kuntz tied the game at 3-3 at 10:43. After the Mules retook the lead at 4-3 at 11:59,
Emma Jones scored her 10th of the season to even the score again.
Muhlenberg took the lead again at 5-4 with six minutes left in the first, but the Dutchmen answered with two straight goals from
Makenzie Kelley and Jones to make it 6-5 LVC. With just under five minutes left in the half, the Mules tied it, however Kuntz scored with 21 seconds left, giving LVC a 7-6 lead after one half of action.
Muhlenberg came out of halftime and scored six consecutive goals that spanned eight minutes of action to take a 12-7 advantage. Boyce notched her third of the game and 15th of the season to make it 12-8, but three straight goals from the Mules made it a 15-8 contest with 12:38 left in the game. The Dutchmen scored a few late goals, but were unable to overtake the Mules en route to the 18-11 defeat.
Inside the Numbers - Kuntz and Boyce recorded three goals apiece, while
Emily Moatz and Jones each had two and Monatz added eight draw controls.

Alyse Bingham had two assists, picked up two ground balls, and two draw controls.
Amanda Mellendick and
Brooke Stoltzfus also picked up two ground balls each.

Shelby Morris took the loss despite making 13 saves on the day.
- Muhlenberg was led by Stephanie D'Ascoli and Casey Armstrong, who both scored four goals.
