How It HappenedLebanon Valley outscored Shenandoah 7-3 in the second half to double up the Hornets 8-4 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse action. The Dutchmen picked up their first win of the young season and evened their record to 1-1, while Shenandoah fell to 0-3.
Coming out of the halftime break tied at 1-1,
Sam Boyce put LVC on top at 2-1 with a goal at 28:12, however four minutes later, the Hornets' Abby Zorrilla tied it up again with a goal at 24:36. Later, at 17:34, Boyce scored her second of the game as the Dutchmen retained the lead at 3-2, but at 12:56, Shenandoah's Miranda Rudacille tied it at 3-3.
The back-and-forth affair continued at 8:39 when
Emma Jones scored unassisted to make it 4-3 LVC, however just under two minutes later at 6:44, Shenandoah tied it up once again at 4-4.
With 4:25 to go in the game,
Nikki Lloyd put the Dutchmen up for good with a goal, and just 25 seconds later, Jones scored her second of the game to make it 6-4.
Tori Kuntz scored her second of the game with 1:10 left, and Boyce officially put the game out of reach by notching the hat trick with 46 seconds left.

Inside the Numbers - Boyce finished with three goals on seven shots, while Jones had two goals and caused two turnovers.

- LVC outshot Shenandoah 26-15 as a team.
