How It HappenedLebanon Valley held Lycoming to their second-lowest point total of the season as the Dutchmen cruised past the Warriors 55-36 in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament Play-In game. LVC advances to the MAC Commonwealth Semifinal game at Albright on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The Dutchmen started off the game on fire, scoring 11 of the first 13 points, capped off by a
Peyton Carper layup at 6:02. LVC continued to pour it on the opener quarter and at the buzzer,
Bridget Rothert drilled a 3-pointer to give the Dutchmen an impressive 19-point lead at 25-6 after one quarter of action.
In the second quarter, LVC continued to lead by double digits, however in the final 5:15 of the quarter, the Warriors outscored the Dutchmen 9-3 and cut the advantage to 33-22 heading into halftime.
Lycoming was able to keep the momentum in the third quarter and opened it up on an 8-4 spurt to come to within six at 36-30 with 6:22 left in the third. From there, the conference's top-ranked scoring defense beared down and did not allow a single point in the final six minutes of quarter and the Dutchmen got their lead back to double digits at 45-30.
LVC's defense kept up its stellar play in the fourth quarter and the Warriors didn't come close in the final period, as the Dutchmen went on to win 55-36 and advance.
It Was Over When…A huge first quarter proved to be the difference tonight for LVC. The Dutchmen held Lycoming to just six points and Carper and Chaklos led the way in the opening quarter.
Top PerformersLVC was paced tonight by Chaklos, who ended with 18 points, six rebounds and three assists. Carper tallied 11 points while bringing down six boards, two assists, and two steals.
Inside the Numbers - The Dutchmen shot 37.5-percent from the field as team and held the Warriors to 29.8-percent.
 - LVC held the edge in points off turnover at 17-16.
 - The Dutchmen bench was at it again tonight, outscoring Lyco's 18-11.

Alyssa Cirucci made her presence by bringing down a team-high seven rebounds.

Bridget Rothert tallied eight points and dished out three assists.
 - Alexandria Lehman came off the bench and provided two blocks and two rebounds.
This Year Against AlbrightLVC has been edged by No. 12 Albright twice this season but each game has been close throughout. Back on Dec. 5, the Lions narrowly defeated the Dutchmen 55-49 and on Jan. 25, Albright came away with a 66-59 victory.
Bring on the LionsLVC takes the short trip to Reading on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament Semifinal. Messiah and Stevenson play in the other semifinal game on Wednesday.Â
