How It HappenedLebanon Valley began its 2016 season with a tough home matchup against No. 8 York (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon at Arnold Field. The Dutchmen fell to the Spartans by a 15-6 margin.
York, who advanced to the NCAA Regional Championship last year, opened up the scoring, but
Sam Boyce tied things up at 1-1 with 28:33 left in the first half with an assist by
Alyse Bingham. The Spartans took over from there, scoring five straight to go up 6-1 at 10:56. At 9:13, LVC got one back as
Tori Kuntz scored an unassisted goal to make it 6-2. The teams traded off goals for the remainder of the half with
Emma Jones and Kuntz adding goals, but York held a 9-4 advantage at halftime.
The Spartans continued to lead in the second half and LVC managed two goals, one from Kutz and one from Boyce in the closing minutes, but York was able to maintain its lead and come away with the 15-6 win.
Inside the Numbers - Kuntz finished with three goals on nine shots, while Boyce had two goals on four shots.

Emily Moatz picked up a team-high four groundballs, and caused a team-high three turnovers, tying with
Kirsten Bannan.

Shelby Morris made 13 saves between the pipes, keeping the Dutchmen within striking distance throughout the contest.
