W. Basketball Edges Aggies at Greyhound Classic

How It Happened
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lebanon Valley held off a late Delaware Valley surge and defeated the Aggies 62-57 to advance to the championship game of the 14th Roosevelt's 21st Annual Greyhound Classic, hosted by Moravian College, on Friday afternoon. The Dutchmen will take on the winner Penn State – Lehigh Valley and Moravian tomorrow at 1 p.m.

With LVC (6-6) ahead 46-39 early in the fourth quarter, Del. Val. (3-7) began a 14-0 run that spanned over four minutes to take a 53-48 lead with 5:25 remaining. The Dutchmen, however, countered with a mini 6-1 run to tie the game up at 54-54 with 2:55 left. From there, a Hilary Yoh jumper and two good free throws from Anne Lehr put LVC back up by four at 58-54 with 58 ticks left on the clock.

Down the stretch, the Aggies' Skedzielewski hit a trey with 40 seconds left to bring Del. Val. to within two at 59-57, but Yoh knocked down two free throws to put the Dutchmen back up by four at 61-57 with 38 seconds remaining. LVC's stingy defense in the final 30 seconds would not let the Aggies score another point and the Dutchmen came away with the comeback win at 62-57.

The contest was close in the early going with LVC ahead 11-7 with 4:10 remaining in the first quarter. However the Dutchmen finished off the first quarter on a 6-0 run and led 17-7 after the period of action.
In the second quarter, LVC was ahead by as many as 12 points at 23-11 with 7:51 to go, but a 7-0 run from the Aggies brought Del. Val. to within five at 23-18 with 6:25 to go. The Dutchmen responded with an 8-3 over the final 6:25 and took a 31-21 lead heading into the break.

Inside the Numbers
 - Lexie Lantz and Yoh each finished with a team-high 15 points, while Jennifer Eck (11) and Lehr (10) were also in double digits in points.
 - Lantz brought down nine rebounds and Eck recorded six boards.
 - LVC outshot the Aggies 44.0-38.2-percent from the field.
 - The Dutchmen went 16-for-22 from the charity stripe and Del. Val. was 8-for-11.
 - LVC turned the Aggies' 22 turnovers into 28 points and the Dutchmen had 23 points in the pant.

LVC is set to take on the winner of Penn State – Lehigh Valley and Moravian tomorrow at 1 p.m. in the championship game of the 14th Roosevelt's 21st Annual Greyhound Classic.
