ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley used a 3-0 victory over Cabrini at Herbert Field on Saturday afternoon to advance to the quarterfinal round of the ECAC Division III Men's Soccer Championship Tournament. The Flying Dutchmen will host Grove City in regional action on Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m.
In the first half, each team saw some scoring chances, but neither squad was able to find the back of the net. Finally, 1:54 into the second half,
Cam Alexander broke the 0-0 tie when
Tyler Skye crossed a ball into the box that Alexander kicked home to give LVC the critical 1-0 advantage.
About eight minutes later in the 59th minute, Alexander sent a pass to
Matt Prince and the junior lifted one past Cabrini's goalkeeper C.J. Serratore for the 2-0 lead. In the 83rd minute,
Kyle Guissanie added one for good measure thanks to a crossing pass from
Ian McGinnis, and the Dutchmen went on to blank the Cavaliers 3-0.
Inside the Numbers
- The Dutchmen outshot Cabrini 18-8 and 9-4 in shots on goal.

Cam Avery was stellar between the pipes, and recorded yet another shutout, while making four saves in the process.
- LVC also led in corner kicks at 5-2.
LVC Set for ECAC Quarters
With Grove City blanking Arcadia 4-0 today, the Dutchmen will now take on the Wolverines tomorrow at Herbert Field at 12 p.m. with a spot in the ECAC Semifinals up for grabs.
