How It HappenedLebanon Valley wrapped up the non-conference portion of its schedule with an 88-74 victory at Wilkes on Saturday afternoon.
Sam Light led all scorers with 26 points,
Andy Orr netted 17 to go along with his game-high eight rebounds, and
Zach Mrozek added 15 tallies as the Flying Dutchmen (10-4) outscored the Colonels (5-8) by 12 points in the second half en route to their fourth consecutive victory.
A key 9-0 run midway through the second half blew the game open as LVC was able to stretch a six-point lead to 15 thanks to key plays by Mrozek, Light, Orr, and
Travis Conrad. The Dutchmen led 71-56 after the run and led by as many as 20 points following Orr's layup with 2:31 to play.
The game was up for grabs at the midway point as Lebanon Valley clung to a slim 42-40 advantage heading into halftime. Wilkes stayed within striking distance for much of the early portion of the second half but the Dutchmen methodically wore down the Colonels with some timely triples by Conrad, Mrozek, and Orr.
Light was the driving force behind LVC's first half offense, netting 16 points before the break. After Wilkes grabbed its largest lead of the game at 30-26, the shifty guard scored eight of the team's final 16 points of the period to stem the Colonel charge.
Turning PointWith LVC clinging to a six-point lead midway through the second half,
Zach Mrozek sparked a crucial 9-0 run by knocking down a 3-ball in transition following a
Travis Conrad steal. Mrozek capped the stretch by finding
Andy Orr for a fast break layup after swiping a steal to up the advantage to 71-56 with 10:06 remaining. Wilkes never recovered.

Zach Mrozek - Light had the hot hand for the Dutchmen in the early going and scored 16 of his game-high 26 points in the first half. The sophomore reached his point total on 9-of-14 shooting from the field and swiped four steals on the defensive end. Mrozek turned in another solid outing, netting 15 points, including 10 in the second half, on a 6-of-10 shooting clip. He also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out three assists.
Inside the Numbers- With today's victory, LVC extended its season-best win-streak to four games. It's the team's longest such streak since the 2013-14 campaign.
- Lebanon Valley finished 6-3 in non-conference play.
- As a team, the Dutchmen shot 50 percent from the field compared to a 42.2 percent clip by Wilkes.
- Lebanon Valley forced 17 turnovers and scored 21 points off of them. The Colonels managed just nine points off turnovers.
- LVC outrebounded Wilkes 39-to-32.

Andrew Eberhart netted four points in nine minutes of action.
