How It HappenedDickinson scored three first-half goals and put Lebanon Valley in a hole in which it could not get out of, as the Red Devils (2-1) downed the Dutchmen (0-3) 4-1 on Sunday afternoon in Carlisle, Pa.
30 minutes into the opening half, Matthew Edmonds notched his first goal of the year to put Dickinson ahead 1-0. Just over three minutes later, the Red Devils tacked on another goal when Danny Sheppard beat
Cam Avery for a 2-0 lead. With just under three minutes remaining in the half, Sheppard scored again to give Dickinson a 3-0 advantage heading into the break.
LVC got one back in the 52nd minute when
Ethan Abdalla drove down the right side and fed
Cam Alexander in front. Alexander beat Jeremy Palcan to give the Dutchmen life and cut the deficit to two at 3-1.
It Was Over When…Danny Sheppard recorded his third goal of the game for the hat trick that put Dickinson up 4-1 and put the game out of reach.
Notable PerformanceAlexander scored his first goal of the season off of a solid feed from Abdalla.
Inside the Numbers - Alexander led the offense with two shots on goal, while Youseff Ouayakhaf came off the bench to provide one shot on goal.
