How It Happened
Lebanon Valley fell behind early and couldn't climb out of the hole in the team's 3-0 loss to Montclair State on the final day of the Drew Fall Festival on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Hawks (3-0) netted the game's first goal in the 11th minute when Kailey Dalgauer made a cross field pass to Kaitlyn Strauss who finished in front. Jacinta Santos made it 2-0 Montclair State eight minutes later when gathered a loose ball inside the circle, made a turn, and split the posts.

Alexis Ambrosino put things out of reach for good when she collected a pass from Kelly Kramer and finished off the play with the Hawks' third score of the day in the 61st minute.

The Flying Dutchmen (1-2) struggled to get going offensively as Maddie Fox's attempt in the game's fourth minute was the team's only shot of the first half compared to nine shots, two scores, and eight penalty corners for Montclair in the first 35 minutes.

LVC had a chance to get on the board in the 44th minute when Lyndee Sheaffer and Rachel Gorman got off three straight shots but a pair of saves by Red Hawks goalkeeper Rebecca Brattole and a defensive save by Charisse Myers preserved the shutout.

It Was Over When…
Ambrosino found the back of the net late in the second half. The Dutchmen were much more aggressive offensively after the break than they were before halftime but without any conversions, a three score deficit with less than ten minutes to play was too much to overcome.

Notable Performance
Kendra Moll – The senior goalkeeper had a nice showing in just her second appearance this season since returning from injury. She started the game's second half and allowed just one goal while turning away three Montclair State attempts, including two in the final three minutes.

Inside the Numbers
- After managing just one shot in the first half, LVC got off six attempts in the final 35 minutes. All of the team's tries were on target.
- Montclair State held advantages in total shots (15-7), SOG (10-7), and penalty corners (11-4).
- Lyndee Sheaffer, Maddie Fox, and Rachel Gorman had the most looks for the Dutchmen with two apiece. Tricia Martin got off one shot on goal.
- Lebanon Valley goalkeepers Victoria ByDeLey and Kendra Moll combined to make seven saves on the day. ByDeLey got the start and Moll spelled her in the second half.
- Red Hawk goalkeeper Rebecca Brattole made five stops and got some help from the rest of the Montclair defense as the team added two defensive saves.
- Montclair State's Kaitlyn Struss was aggressive offensively, getting off five shots (four SOG) and netting one score.
- The shutout defeat is LVC's second in three games this season. The Dutchmen were shut out just once last fall.

Who's Next?
The Dutchmen will host their first true home game of 2015 when they face Juniata at Arnold Field on Wednesday night.
