Dutchmen Shut Down Canton In ECAC Quarters

How It Happened
Lebanon Valley shut down SUNY Canton's high-powered offense, 13-5, to advance out of their ECAC Mid-Atlantic Quarterfinal match-up Wednesday at Arnold Field.

LVC will take on McDaniel, a 20-9 winner over Misericordia, in Saturday's semifinals at a time to be announced Thursday. The game will be played at #1 seed Stevens Institute of Technology.

Goalkeeper Shelby Morris became LVC's all-time wins leader as her eight-save effort led a dominating defense that forced 23 Canton turnovers and held the Kangaroos (10-5) to a 13-of-22 clear rate.

The Dutchmen led wire-to-wire keyed by a 6-1 run across the middle of the first half to take control of the game. Nine different players scored for LVC, led by Sam Boyce's hat trick and two apiece by Anna Pagels and Emma Jones.

Milestone Trio
Morris was one of the three Dutchmen to reach career milestones. With four points in the first half, Jenny Simensky became the seventh member of LVC's 100-points club, and Anna Pagels became the fifth player to score 100 goals later in the half.

Rule The Defense, Rule the World
LVC's game MVP honors went to defender Brooke Stoltzfus, who had game-highs with four caused turnovers and five ground balls. She helped limit the Roos scoring tandem of Robyn Carroll and Tressa Goolden, who came in averaging a combined 8.4 goals per game, to three goals and only two from open play.

Notables
