M. Lax Edged By Stockton In ECAC Quarterfinals

How It Happened
Stockton University held off Lebanon Valley's comeback charge to win their ECAC Mid-Atlantic quarterfinal tilt, 8-7.

The Ospreys (13-5) used a 5-0 third quarter to take control of the game after the Dutchmen (8-9) led 5-2 at the half, but LVC clawed back into it with fourth-quarter goals by Koty Keefer and Matt Lubawski to set up a chance to tie it in the final minute.

LVC led 3-0 on first-quarter goals by Austin Minnich, Keefer, and Jacques Mercer, and Lubawski scored two in the final 1:39 of the second to give LVC their 5-2 halftime lead. Stockton hit five straight in the third, however, to flip it to a 7-5 lead, but Keefer stopped the bleeding to open the fourth before Stockton's Nick Bologno and LVC's Lubawski traded goals.

Trailing 8-7, LVC got a key caused turnover by Bobby Doughty with 3:56 left and called tiemout. Keefer's shot out of the talk was saved, and Eric Wilcoxson stopped a Stockton shot at the other end before Doughty caused another turnover with 1:56 left. Brett Kudlak's attempt was saved, but an unforced turnover by the Ospreys gave LVC a final shot at tying the game. After a good clear and a timeout, Austin Minnich's attempt sailed wide left with 10 seconds to go, and that would be LVC's final attempt to force overtime.
