Game 1
A pair of unearned runs cost Lebanon Valley in the team's 3-1 loss to #24 Kean in game one of a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday afternoon.

Haley Neff was top-notch inside the circle for LVC (6-15), allowing just four hits and one earned run and recording eight strikeouts.

With the score tied 1-1 in the third inning, the hometown Cougars (13-5) took advantage of a Flying Dutchmen error and plated the game-winning run when Kayla Parker singled down the left field line.

Sammy Bost drove in LVC's lone run with a ground rule double down the left field line that brought in Tessa Deardorff to tie things at 1-1 in the top of the third.

The Dutchmen had an opportunity to strike early when they loaded the bases in the top of the first but Kean starter Courtney Yard was able to work out of the jam.

Game 2
Lebanon Valley put forth a valiant late-game push but fell just short of overcoming a six-run, seventh-inning deficit in the team's 7-5 loss to #24 Kean in the nightcap of a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday afternoon.

Elaine Gross launched the first home run of her career, a solo shot over the fence in left-center field, to get the Flying Dutchmen (6-16) on the board in the top of the fifth after falling behind 6-0 through four innings.

The Cougars (14-5) watched their comfortable 7-1 lead evaporate in the seventh when Jorey Aumiller, Tessa Deardorff, and Sammy Bost singled during consecutive at-bats and Gross drove two of them in with a double down the right field line. Kelli Valle plated Bost with an RBI groundout and Gross scored thanks to a Kean fielding error. Angela Harris walked, moving Emily Johnson to second on the play, and Jordyn Miller singled up the middle to load the bases with two outs. Alissa Robinson got a hold of one in what proved to be LVC's final at-bat but center fielder Brooke Ennis was able to chase it down, ending the threat and the game.

Inside the Circle
- Starters Haley Neff (2-7) and Courtney Yard (9-2) turned in stellar performances in the opener. Neff threw 6.0 innings and allowed just one run on four hits and six walks in addition to striking out eight batters. Yard earned the win by allowing just one run on six hits and one walk. She struck out 11 Dutchmen.
- Haley Christensen (4-6) got the ball for game two and went 3.0 innings, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk. Christina Mentzer made a relief appearance, throwing the final 3.0 innings and allowing four earned runs on six hits and a walk. The pair combined for five strikeouts.
- Kean's Stephanie Gilbert (5-2) got the win in the nightcap, throwing all 7.0 innings and giving up four earned runs on nine hits and three walks in addition to whiffing three.

At the Plate
- Sammy Bost was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI in the opener. She added a single in the finale to increase her batting average to .410 on the spring; the highest of any LVC player with at least 25 at-bats. She also leads the Dutchmen in hits (25) and RBI (12).
- Elaine Gross provided instant offense for Lebanon Valley in the second game, finishing a triple short of the cycle with a game-high three RBI and two runs scored. Her solo shot was the first of her career.
- Kayleen Rizo was Kean's top hitter on the day. She was 2-for-4 with a double in game one and 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the second outing. Emily Bissonnette whacked three doubles for the Cougars in the nightcap.

Around the Diamond
- After breaking Lebanon Valley's career hits record on Monday, Tessa Deardorff added her name to another page of the program's record book as she is now LVC's all-time leader in runs scored with 107.
- LVC left six runners on base in the first game, including leaving the bases loaded in the top of the first inning. The Dutchmen stranded nine in game two, including a loaded diamond to end the contest.
- Errors proved costly for the Dutchmen as they committed five across both contests; two in game one and three in the nightcap. Kean scored three unearned runs as a result, including the game-winner in the opener.

Next Up
The Dutchmen get back to Commonwealth Conference play when they travel to Alvernia for a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.
