How It HappenedLebanon Valley unleashed a big second half to overcome a halftime deficit and beat Albright, 15-9, in their regular-season finale Wednesday night.
The Dutchmen end the regular season at 10-6 overall and 6-2 in Commonwealth Conference play. They will visit Stevenson on Wednesday, March 29 in a CC Tournament semifinal at a time to be announced.
Tori Kuntz scored four goals and
Emma Jones and
Bailey Benz added hat tricks to pace the Dutchmen, who trailed 6-5 at the break but outscored the Lions (8-7, 2-5 CC) 10-3 in the second half.
It was a tale of two halves as Albright outshot LVC 12-10 in the first but the Dutchmen worked a 20-4 advantage in the second and gained the upper hand in the circle with an 8-5 second-half draw control edge. LVC wrapped a 7-0 run around the break, which included all three of Jones' goals and strikes from Kuntz, Benz,
Jenny Simensky, and
Sam Boyce to swing a 6-3 deficit into a 10-6 lead.
LVC's defense held Albright to only three second-half goals, and two tallies from Kuntz and another by Benz mid-half sealed the deal as
Anna Pagels and
Emily Moatz added last-minute scores.
Notables- LVC led 30-16 on shots and 13-12 on draws.
- With her four goals,
Tori Kuntz's scoring streak reached 16 games dating back to last season. The junior ends the regular season with a career-best 35 goals, including 24 in Commonwealth Conference play.

Sam Boyce scored a goal to finish the regular season with a team-high 60 points off 46 goals and 14 assists.

Jenny Simensky extended her scoring streak to 10 games with a goal and an assist. She also had a career-high four ground balls.

Emily Moatz scored off the draw at the buzzer for her second career goal.

Brooke Stoltzfus had a huge game on defense with four caused turnovers and a career-high six ground balls.

Shelby Morris made four saves to earn the win. Emily Hutson stopped nine for Albright.
Rulers of the World- LVC's postgame "Ruler of the World" award went to both
Emily Moatz and
Emma Jones. Moatz helped key LVC's defense in the second half and added four draw controls with caused turnovers, while Jones scored her second career hat trick during the decisive 7-0 run and won three draws.
