Game 1
Emily Johnson's sixth-inning RBI single drove in Sammy Bost from second base and ended Lebanon Valley's recent nine-game skid with a 1-0 victory over Arcadia in game one of a Commonwealth Conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.

Starters Haley Neff and Erin Wilson showcased some fine pitching as the hurlers threw just 87 and 85 pitches, respectively, and combined to allow just eight hits through five innings.

After leaving three runners in scoring position in the first five innings, Bost finally got the Flying Dutchmen (7-20, 4-7 CC) with a lead-off, infield single to shortstop to begin the bottom of the sixth. She stole second and Johnson brought her across when she laced an 0-2 offering into right field during the next at-bat.

The Knights (11-18, 2-9 CC) threatened in the top of the seventh when Alicia McMahon led off the stanza with a swinging bunt single and Erin Wilson reached on a bunt of her own during the ensuing at-bat. Tori Zaccaria moved them into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt but Neff got a much-needed second out by striking out Kaylee Zarick before getting Sarah Boyadjis to foul out to Alissa Robinson to end the game.

Game 2
Errors and poor situational hitting cost Lebanon Valley in the team's 7-1 loss to Arcadia in game two of a Commonwealth Conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.

A Flying Dutchmen error in the top of the first led to two unearned runs and the Knights posted five total in the frame. The team's second error did no harm when Jorey Aumiller snagged Alicia McMahon's one-out line shot and fired to Jasmine Dutton at first to pick off Nicki Larro and complete the double play. But three more mistakes in the top of the fourth led to two more unearned runs for the Knights (12-18, 3-9 CC) and a game that saw LVC (7-21, 4-8 CC) struggle to generate runs, a 7-1 deficit proved too much to overcome.

The Dutchmen got on the board in the bottom of the second when Kelli Valle singled to left-center field and drove in Jordyn Miller from third.

The story of the contest was Lebanon Valley's inability to execute with runners in scoring position. The home team left ten runners on base and stranded six in scoring position. The Dutchmen had scoring chances in the second, third, fifth, sixth, and seventh innings, all with less than two outs but were able to plate a run just once.

Inside the Circle
- Haley Neff (3-10) was strong in the opener for LVC, throwing a complete-game shutout and scattering seven hits. She surrendered no free bases and struck out five Knights.
- Erin Wilson (5-9) pitched well enough to win in 7.0 innings of work but received little help offensively as she allowed one run on just five hits. She walked none had two wild pitches to go along with her three strikeouts.
- Haley Christensen got the start for the Dutchmen in the nightcap but was relieved by Jasmine Dutton and Holly Langdon. Christensen threw 3.1 innings and allowed eight hits but surrendered just three earned runs. Dutton gave up three hits and no earned runs in 2.2 innings while Langdon walked one and struck out one in the top of the seventh inning.
- It wasn't pretty but Laura Christine (5-6) repeatedly worked out of trouble for Arcadia in game two, allowing just one run despite giving up 12 hits. She didn't record a strikeout but surrendered no free bases.

At the Plate
- Emily Johnson did the damage for the Dutchmen in the opener, going 1-for-2 with the game-winning RBI. Sammy Bost was 2-for-3 and scored the game-winning run.
- Johnson went 2-for-4 in the nightcap with a double while Bost also finished 2-for-4 with a pair of bunt singles. Kim Ortiz-Marrero was 2-for-2 while Jordyn Miller finished 1-for-3 with a double.
- Jessica Shotwell was 2-for-4 for Arcadia in the second game with an RBI and a run scored while Alicia McMahon drove in a game-high two runs.
- In a game of small ball, neither squad had an extra-base hit in game one.

Around the Diamond
- Emily Johnson's game one RBI ups her team-leading total to 14 this spring.
- Sammy Bost stole a base in each game to bring her team-leading total to 14 on the season.
- Tessa Deardorff swiped a bag in the opener, giving her 82 for her career. She now holds a share of the program record with her sister, former player and current assistant coach Katie Deardorff `14.
- Angela Harris saw plenty of action in right field, recording seven putouts across two games.

Autism Awareness Day
Saturday was LVC softball's 2015 Autism Awareness Day. The Dutchmen sold merchandise including wristbands and t-shirts and took donations in an effort to raise awareness about the disease. Honorary team captain Aiden Flamm threw out the ceremonial first pitch and a charity home run derby took place after the contests to close out Autism Awareness Day.

Next Up
LVC travels to Lycoming tomorrow afternoon for another Commonwealth Conference doubleheader.
