W. Lacrosse Beats Lyco, Improves To 3-0 In CC Play

How It Happened
A big second half helped Lebanon Valley shake Lycoming and stay unbeaten in Commonwealth Conference play with a 14-6 win.

The Dutchmen (7-4, 3-0 CC) won their fifth straight game as they outscored the Warriors (7-2, 0-2 CC) 8-2 in the second half to break open a close game.

Anna Pagels scored five times and Tori Kuntz added four goals to lead LVC. The Dutchmen led 6-4 at the half, but those two sparked a 4-0 run to open the second half. After a pair of mid-half goals by Lyco cut the lead to 10-6, Lebanon Valley held the visitors scoreless over the final 14:52 while finishing on two strikes by Pagels and goals from Emma Jones and Kuntz to win going away.

Notables
- Anna Pagels broke through for a season-high five goals, and she also snagged three draws and caused two turnovers. 
- Lycoming's Meghenn Jackson, ranked fifth in the nation in scoring coming into the game, was held to a single free-position goal. She was face-guarded all game by Tori Kuntz and held without a shot in open play.
- Kuntz also continued her hot streak on offense with four goals and an assist. The junior has 12 goals and two assists during LVC's win streak.
- Jenny Simensky and Sam Boyce added two goals each.
- Defender Brooke Stoltzfus caused a career-high five turnovers, and Bailey Benz added four takeaways with a game-high six ground balls.
- LVC's ride was relentless, holding Lycoming to a 9-for-20 clear rate while enjoying a 19-for-20 effort on the offensive end. It was the third straight game that LVC held their opponent to a sub-.500 clear rate.
- LVC led 36-15 on shots.
- Shelby Morris picked up the win with three saves. Lycoming's Nicole Gerling had a fine game in the losing effort with 12 stops.
