How It HappenedA huge second-half push gave Lebanon Valley its first ECAC championship since 2003, beating Albright 81-56 behind tournament most outstanding player
Taylor Umbrell's career-high 22 points.
The Flying Dutchmen (21-9) outscored the Lions (21-8) 47-24 in the second half after a first-half battle gave them a slim 34-32 halftime advantage.
Albright led much of the first half on the back of strong post play, with Kalecia Harris scoring 13 of her 23 points and Emily O'Donnell pouring in nine. But LVC chipped away, and ended the first half with five straight points to take a lead into the locker room.
The Dutchmen began the second half on a 9-2 run to extend the lead, and three straight three-pointers later in the period - two by Umbrell and another from
Peyton Carper - put LVC in firm control up 57-42 at the midway point. The lead only grew from there, and LVC ended the game on a 13-2 run while holding Albright to one field goal in the final 5:33 of the game.

They Said It"She's unbelievable. She's been big for us all year. Defensively and offensively, she's given us big nights all year but she's been our most steady player, defensively, and we kind of go as she goes. If her energy's there and she's intense defensively, it picks everybody else up." - Head Coach
Amy Sokaitis on the play of tournament MOP
Taylor Umbrell.
"We knew we had to come out strong in the second half. They were going to keep fighting, it's their home court, it's their last shot at a big run so we knew we had to come out stronger than they did." - Umbrell on LVC's second-half surge
