Game 1
Lebanon Valley put together a clutch sixth inning offensively and Jason Barthold worked out of trouble in the seventh to give the Flying Dutchmen a 4-3 victory over Stevenson in game one of a Commonwealth Conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.

The win gave head coach Keith Evans the 200th of his career as the skipper of the Flying Dutchmen.

The Mustangs (5-8-2, 4-2 CC) got on the board first in the top of the third and added a second, unearned run in the fifth.

The apparent pitcher's duel was finally infused with some offense when Zac Edwards and Zach Smith singled in back-to-back at-bats in the bottom of the sixth. Brett Fundell followed it up with a single up the middle that scored Edwards and Phill Dohner's RBI single saw Smith beat the throw to the plate and tie the score at 2-2. Matthew Smarkanic's single through the left side drove in Fundell and Glenn Dietrich's RBI groundout plated Dohner to make it 4-2 LVC (6-7, 2-2 CC) heading into the final inning.

Stevenson made it interesting when Brody Tennant's lead-off double eventually allowed the Mustangs to cut the deficit just one run, but Barthold got Ian Eberly to ground out to second base to end the threat, stranding runners on second and third and sealing the win for the Dutchmen.

Game 2
Some aggressive base running and Stevenson's crooked number in the fifth inning kept the Mustangs from being swept in their 5-1 win over Lebanon Valley in game two of a doubleheader at McGill Field on Saturday afternoon.

After the Dutchmen (6-8, 2-3 CC) failed to do anything with Phill Dohner's second inning double, Stevenson's Frederick Casper reached base on a fielder's choice, stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored when John D'Aquanno singled to left field in the top of the third.

LVC stranded two in the bottom of the frame and the Mustangs (6-8-2, 4-2 CC) added another in the fourth when Brody Tennant, who catcher Colin Albright appeared to have dead to rights attempting to steal third base, took advantage of a dropped throw and plated to make it 2-0 Stevenson.

The visitors got the bats going in the fifth, scoring three more on two singles, a double, and a walk.

The Dutchmen got on the board in the bottom of the stanza when Zach Smith's fly ball to center was mishandled by Tennant, allowing Matthew Smarkanic to cross the plate from second base. But LVC managed just one base runner the rest of the way as reliever Trevor Fitzsimmons capped off the nightcap victory for the Mustangs.

On the Mound
-  Jason Barthold (2-0) earned his second win of the year in the opener, throwing a complete game and allowing just two earned runs on six hits and two walks. He also recorded four strikeouts.
- Thomas Mattaini got the start in game two and allowed three earned runs on five hits and two walks in 4.0 innings of work.
- Casey Wall and Patrick Reagan combined to pitch the final three innings. Wall allowed two hits and a run while Reagan allowed four hits but no runs or walks through 2.0 stanzas.
- Stevenson's Dan Williams had the best day of any Mustang pitcher, allowing no earned runs on just four hits before being forced to exit due to injury after 4.1 innings thrown.

At the Plate
- Zac Edwards, Brett Fundell, and Phill Dohner each went 2-for-3 in the opener with Fundell and Dohner driving in a run each.
- Glenn Dietrich drove in his third run of the season during a key pinch hit at-bat in the sixth inning of game one.
- The Dutchmen managed just for hits in the nightcap with Dohner and Matthew Smarkanic lacing a double each and Edwards and Zach Smith singling once apiece.
- Craigh Joseph and Brody Tennant finished the day with two RBI apiece for Stevenson.

Around the Diamond
- The Mustangs were aggressive on the base paths, stealing four bases on the day, including three in the finale.
- Colin Albright gunned down Stevenson's John D'Aquanno attempting to steal second in game two.
- Phill Dohner, Zac Edwards, and Albright combined on a pretty relay to throw out D'Aquanno trying to score from first in the nightcap's third inning.
- Edwards, Zac Smith, and Brett Fundell teamed up for two double plays in the opener.

Next Up
